About Me

Antonio Imbasciati is an ordinary member and trainer of the Italian Psychoanalytical Society (S.P.I.) and of the International Psychoanalytical Association (I.P.A.). He is Professor Emeritus of the University of Brescia.

As Full Professor of Clinical Psychology, he has first been professor at School of Education (University of Turin), and later for over twenty years Director of the Psychology Section at the Maternal and Child Department of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at University of Brescia). He worked as a psychoanalyst, psychotherapist, supervisor and researcher in both Milan and Brescia.

He graduated in Medicine and further specialized in Psychotechnics and then in Clinical Psychology as well as in Infant Neuropsychiatry. As a researcher he trained at the Institute of Psychology of the Catholic University of Milan in the years 1961-1971 (free lecturer in 1970), and as a psychoanalyst, starting from 1963 within the institutional structures of the Italian Psychoanalytic Society.

He was founder and president of the “College of Italian University Professors and Researchers of Clinical Psychology”. As a sexologist he taught at the Interdisciplinary Center for Research and Training in Sexology (CIRS, member of FISS).

He has published almost 400 works of which 70 volumes, some even with didactic value.
